Ambush at Cimtar: Colonial Forces: 5 Battlestars (Atlantia, Pacifica, Galactica, Acropolis, Solaria) 1 Protector (Star Kobol - where the peace conference is to be held) 2 Defenders (Triton - escort to the Pacifica, Neurus - escort to the Solaria) 384 Vipers (Each Battlestar carrying 72 Vipers, the Defenders carry 12 each and the Protector not carrying any) (64 total flights - 2 flights from each battlestar has elite pilots) Cylon Forces: 900 Raiders (138 normal flights, 12 deathsquadron flights) 120 Metron Bombs 1 Military Freighter 1 Military Tanker 1 Deceiver (Mask Reservoirs empty) Set-up: Floating Map Cimtar : 7 hex moon - center at 0317 Hexes containing Mask from the Deceiver (ignore hexes that the moon occupies): 0110->0121 0210->0220 0311->0319 0411->0418 0512->0515 Cylon Forces: Military Tanker: 0514-4 Speed 0 Military Freighter: 0414-3 Speed 0 Deceiver: 0117-1 Speed 1 Place 15 flights at least 1 hex inside the Mask, no more than 3 flights in any one hex at speed 5. Each turn thereafter, place 5 more flights on the map with the same placement restrictions but at speed 12 (or less if player prefers). Colonial Forces: Protector: Star Kobol: 4007-1 Speed 2 Battlestars: Acropolis: 4013-1 Speed 2 Pacifica: 4115-1 Speed 2 Atlantia: 4016-1 Speed 2 Galactica: 4217-1 Speed2 Solaria: 4219-1 Speed 2 Defenders: Triton: 4215-1 Speed 2 Neurus: 4121-1 Speed 2 No fighters launched, All ships at Cruise Stations except the Galactica which is at Patrol Stations. Galactica can begin going to battlestations starting at turn 1 and all battlestars are considered to have their jump drive half charged (12 turns). On turn 12 one may leave the battle in the hopes of saving the colonies - it does not have to be the Galactica. All other colonial ships can not begin going to battlestations until the Cylon fighters are 12 hexes away from any colonial ship or less. Cylon Victory Conditions (Colonial victory conditions are opposite): Complete Victory: All colonial vessels destroyed Major Victory: 1 colonial ship survives Minor Victory: 2-3 colonial ships survive Minor Loss: 4+ colonial ships survive Major Loss: 5+ colonial ships survive and all raiders are destroyed Complete Loss: 6+ colonial ships survive and the Deceiver is discovered and destroyed Historical Result: The first wave of Raiders hit the landing bays of the battlestars with metron bombs disabling or destroying nearly the entire complement of vipers in the fleet. The Galactica had already launched most of its fighters and was able to repel the attack thereby keeping its bays operational. throughout the fight. The Defenders were able to launch their fighters, since the battlestars were the priority target, and the Pacifica had one bay operational long enough to launch some of its fighters as well. Deathsquadrons finished off the Atlantia and Solaria, and did heavy damage to the Acropolis. Only the Galactica and 67 vipers escaped. Optional Setup: Place two individual vipers (Zac and Apollo) on the board two hexes away from the closest Cylon Raider flight and heading toward the Colonial fleet at speed 5. One Viper (Zac) has 4 boxes of damage and only has 10+2 thrust available. The other Viper (Apollo) is undamaged. Except for the Galactica, the rest of the battlestars can't begin to go to battlestations or launch fighters until either Zac is destroyed or the Cylons reach the 12 hex distance above. If Zac is not destroyed before he lands on the Galactica, the Cylon's victory conditions is swung one level toward the Colonials at the end of the battle regardless of the outcome.
