WHAT'S NEW ON THE BATTLESTAR GALACTICA PAGES
--Update 10/16/03 -- Added the Colonial Battlenova and a new illustration for the Assaultstar. Also added a bunch of new Cylon ships and a couple of new illustrations there too. There are new rules in the technologies page for mines as well.
--Update 6/18/02 -- Ok, it's been long enough without an update. There are some new pictures and some new SCSs available on the Colonial and Cylon pages, the new SCSs added are the two-seat Viper, the Colonial Base Star Destroyer and the Cylon Marauder Super Heavy Fighter. The new pictures are of the Colonial Searcher and the Cylon Invader.
I know a lot of people have been wondering about the miniatures and after a hiatus I am back at work on modelling them. I am building computer models of them and intend on outputting them using a 3d rapid prototyping machine which should result in the highest detail possible. Hopefully the first miniatures will be output in the next few months but it all really depends on cost. Everyone that has mailed me is on my list to be contacted as soon as they become available. If you haven't done so already, feel free to use the link to mail me and tell me you're interested. I'll have pictures up of the first model (a Colonial Ranger) sometime in the next week or two I hope.
--Uupdate 4/12/01 -- Added the Cylon Teleportation Ring for the Super Base Star.
--Update 3/24/01 -- Made an adjustment to the War Star SCS and made some minor updates to some of the Raider and Shield rules.
--Update 2/1/01 -- Just posted pictures of the first completed BSG Wars miniature: the Cylon Raider. Check out the Miniatures And Counters section.
--Update 1/31/01 -- A couple of very minor fixes on some of the SCSs; namely the Colonial Guardian was mislabeled as a HCV, the Viper was mislabeled as a Heavy Fighter and all Cylon ships that have a Mega-Pulsar used to say a range penalty of "-1/3 hexes" and now say "-1 per 3 hexes" in order to be consistent with the rest of the weapon systems. The Cylon Invader got upgunned due to a playtest report that indicated that it was undergunned and I've added the new Cylon Watcher to the list completing the Cylon fleet list (yay!). A couple of variants for the War Star are in the works and the Colonial Battlenova is also in progress. There also may be a second class of Defender or Guardian soon available. Miniatures are coming along, the raider is looking quite good so far and I'm becoming more confident with the method I'm using, pictures are coming soon.
--Update 1/17/01 -- Large update, added several new Eastern Alliance ships, some newly designed Western Nationalist ships, converted the Livestock Ship (previously the mineral ship), Cylon Tanker and the Super Base Star into the new format and went through all of the SCSs fixing the inconsistencies in the turbolasers and other various "fixes" that I've been needing to do for a while. I also made some counter sheets to help those that are playing these ships. A couple of ships got new point values and I altered the point values of all the ships that carry Telview Extensions - the pods are going to be purchased seperately so see the rules for that system.
--Update 12/11/00 -- Fixed the Battlestar, Assaultstar and Gunstar Heavy Pulsar Laser icons/names and updated the Colonial Movers Freighter to the new format. The Colonial Searcher is done and will hopefully be posted tonight and I will begin working on updating the rest of the old SCSs.
--Update 12/6/00 -- Reorganized the All SCSs page and updated it to reflect the newest items. Since the number of SCSs and ships that I've made so far are getting so numerous I've decided to call it all Battlestar Galactica Wars and will be treating it as a stand-alone game though the ships should be usable with other B5W ships.
--Update 12/5/00 -- Added a picture of the Cylon Intruder and adjusted the SCS of the Cylon Skirmisher (it had too much structure).
--Update 12/2/00 -- Added the Cylon Skirmisher and new rules for the Turbopulsar Cannon
--Update 11/30/00 -- Added the Colonial Gunstar but I now realize the Gunstar, Assaultstar and Battlestar are using the old icons for the pulsar lasers so I will be fixing that soon.
--Update 11/7/00 -- Added the Colonial Assaultstar and added new rules for Mega Metron Bombs.
--Update 10/6/00 -- Added the Cylon Devastator and added some minor additions.
--Update 10/2/00 -- Added descriptions for the new Cylon ships and I'm thinking I need to make both the turn cost and turn delay on the Intruder 2/3 speed to make it fit the description better. I also notice I need to add weapon numbers to the Colonial Defender.
--Update 10/1/00 -- Massive update! Added 5 new SCSs (4 Cylon and 1 Colonial) and updated the Easter Alliance Destroyer. Descriptions for these ships will probably be made tomorrow.
--Update 9/29/00 -- Updated the Viper and Raider SCSs. Nothing changed, just changed over to the new format.
--Update 9/27/00 -- I added the proton energizer to the Electronics ship and have finally decided to increase the range penalties for almost all the weapons since battles in the show were typically taking place at fairly short range. Turbolasers are now -2 per hex, Mega-Lasers are -1 per hex and Pulsar Lasers are -1 per 2 hexes. I left the Mega-Pulsar as it was at -1 per 3 hexes.
--Update 9/26/00 -- I took a bunch of screen captures last night and have put the new pictures on the various pages. New pictures include: Turbolaser, Mega-Laser, Mega-Pulsar, Pulsar Laser, Solenite missile, Electronics Ship (Celestra) and the Eastern Alliance Destroyer.
--Update 9/25/00 -- I've made a couple adjustments to the rules for some of the weapon systems and I realize I forgot the Proton Energizer on the Electronics Ship (I plan to fix that tonight). I made some adjustments and clarification on the Telview Extension pods, changed the Proton Energizer to raking damage mode and clarified the Megatron torpedo and Solenite missile rules a little in the effort to eliminate possible confusion.
--Update 9/25/00 -- I've found the PDF format does not like the Galactica font so I've converted the text to line art which should finally fix the last of my problems and the sheets should look the way I intended. I've also added a new SCS; the Colonial Electronics Ship, which you'll remember from the episode Take The Celestra.
--Update 9/20/00 -- I think I've fixed many of the problems with the fonts (among other strange problems) on the SCSs and uploaded the new versions. The file size should be smaller too. I've also added numbers to the weapons on those SCSs that didn't have them and added new drawings of the Cylon Imperator and Colonial Guardian to the ships of the fleet pages. A SCS for the Defender will be coming soon along with some more of the old ones converted to the new format. Enjoy!
--Update 9/18/00 -- Fixed a bunch of errors on the new format SCSs and made the Colonial Ranger as well. I'm noticing a problem with the fonts in some areas of the PDFs I'm creating and I'm looking into it. More to come soon.
--Update 9/12/00 -- Posted the Colonial Protector in the new format. It too recieved a bit of an upgrade to weapons and systems in order to make it better suited for it's role as a heavy cruiser.
--Update 9/11/00 -- Posted the first of the new format SCSs; Colonial Battlestar and Cylon Base Star. The Battlestar has had a weapons upgrade and the Base Star has had a structure downgrade as adjustments according to some playtest reports. Some of the primary systems icons have gotten an upgrade as well on both ships.
--Update 5/24/00 -- Made a quick illustration of a Colonial Ranger escort ship though I don't have a SCS yet. This ship can be found in the Colonial Ship descriptions page.
